Summer: Press Play

On Thursday night, I hit up Artwalk in Downtown, LA. For those that aren't familiar with Artwalk, it's every 1st Thursday of the month where Downtown LA turns into a hipster New York mob scene. Galleries open up at night where independent artists showcase their art, musicians showcase their talent, food trucks of SoCal come together to bring the best street food in town! I had fun with Bonnie looking for venues for our event in Artwalk this August. We went around with our friend Brady. We met Brady last time we were at Artwalk; he's this friendly old man that walks around at Artwalk with a cowboy hat on and is responsible for a lot of happenings in the city.
The display at Skin Graft. Like. (Brady got these guys into LAFW!)

The weekend hit. On Friday night, the girls decided to meet up in Santa Barbara to meet up with our dearest Michelle at UCSB. The weekend was so refreshing. Just to get out of LA, be next to the ocean and with my lovely friends-- couldn't have asked for a better time. We ate, shopped, chilled, laughed, reminisced, etc... Michelle treated us out to Freebirds, it's like Chipotle on crack. (see below). At night we stayed in, caught up with one another over some wine, then walked out to the beach and had the most refreshing Friday night I've had in a while.

The next day we went to Downtown Santa Barbara to explore, which reminded me a lot of Old Town Pasadena. The shopping in Santa Barbara is pretty awesome. The food is great and the weather was favorable. Michelle, you're a lucky girl. We came back to the apartment and drove over to the beach. Like little kids, we played campfire games like "concentration" and had so much fun doing the smallest, weirdest things. Ahhh, it felt so good to be back together. At night, Rebecca and I went to a UCSB party! lol it felt like Freshman year all over again...
Summer's kicked off pretty decently so far. Can't wait to see how the rest of summer unwinds! Stay tuned.
