Luigi Borbone S/S 2012

Rome isn't quite the fashion capital of Italy, but fortunately there's a large enough base of designers in this city to assemble for a mini fashion week. I was invited to AltaRomaAltaModa, which is very similar to fashion week in any other city. It was sponsored by Mercedes Benz and Loreal and featured some of the most talented and well known, and even some aspiring designers in Italy. My primary purpose for attending these shows was to cover these events for Freedom & Fashion. It felt strange, but also refreshing to cover a show rather than helping plan it and working backstage. My first show was Luigi Borbone who is extremely talented and also very sweet. I don't know anything about fashion, so I didn't have any kind of background to what I was getting myself into. Thankfully I brought Michelle along with me as my "press photographer" (lol) and we actually got through our first Italian fashion show very smoothly.
Passing by the Pantheon on our way to the show.
The hotel venue was located right in front of this gorgeous piazza, in front of a gigantic Zara on Via Del Corso.
There was also this very interesting pillar with the most intricate detailing. I have no idea the significance behind any of these monuments its almost sad...lol must Wikipedia.
One of the first looks of Luigi Borbone's White/White collection.
At this venue, there were 3 different rooms with a connecting door in each room. The models walked from one room to another, stopping at the center in each room. Different...but it worked.
I was looking at the shoes and realized that I have a pair with the exact same heels in black. (2 years ahead?)
Finale. The man of the hour with his models. Luigi was so sweet. I got to talk to him after the show and we exchanged names. He told me to come visit him at his showroom sometime. I thought he was just saying that, until I saw him again today at another fashion show. He asked me when I was coming to his showroom, again. lol I told him I wasn't a buyer and he said "no, just as friends". So sweet.
The hotel was adorned with beautiful crystal chandeliers.
I will always and forever forget to take the black hair tie off my wrist. Even on my wedding day.
My sidekick Michella.
Here's a little video I made for Freedom & Fashion recapping the show. Excuse the poor quality and terrible editing. First time using iMovie.
After the show, we decided to grab some gelato before parting ways. It was cold, but you can never say no to gelato.
